Universal Seed Boot - Left. The seed boot carries the seed down the disc and drops it clean into the bottom of the furrow, so it lands where it should every pass.

How to check for wear
Run your fingers down the inner wall that sits against the disc. Once it's worn to a knife's edge it starts to chip and fracture, and your seed placement goes with it. Look at the bottom of the boot too: a fresh one has sharp, square edges, while a worn one goes rounded and smooth. Keep an eye on disc size, because discs run below 17 inch push the boot too close to the furrow floor and chew the bottom out fast. Finally, check the boot bolt and mounting holes for slop — play here only grows, lifts the wear rate, and can eventually crack the casting off the shank.
